Tresor New Faces w/ Mario Berger
Wed 11 March 2020 - 23:59

In 2005 NUEΛ started his journey into music in Athens, with several gigs and residencies in bars and clubs around. In 2015 he became member of Evolution, one of the biggest techno events organisers in Athens and also joined Greek Techno Rebels. In 2019 NUEΛ joined Modular Expansion, the first team which started organizing Techno events in Athens, founded in 1998. In 2012 came the label of Modular Expansion Records, with releases and the support of global fame artists which has been the baseline to follow up events abroad and especially in Berlin, featuring a premier list of international artists and has already received widespread recognition. Treading the line between dreamy atmospherics with viscously stomping percussive elements, Habgud is a UK-based producer. After steadily plying his trade playing over the last 5 years with DJ residencies at northern techno powerhouses ‘Grey Area’ and ‘Selective Hearing’, he released his debut record ‘Panoptic’ in 2018. That release, as well as the 2019 follow up ‘Simulacra’ on London heavyweight label EarToGround gained praise and support from a multitude of high profile techno artists. Going into 2020 with the launch of his own record label B.A.B.E (Burned at Both Ends) it seems Habgud’s emotive yet pummeling slant on techno has made him one of the new-wave of young artists set for the world stage. Tresor resident and tonight’s host Mario Berger’s sets are a blend of major influences of artists like James Ruskin, Surgeon, Jeff Mills, Robert Hood or Luke Slater and labels like Underground Resistance, Downwards, Basic Channel and Tresor Records. With Alex Kowalski, mostly under his d_func moniker, Mario has an ongoing studio collaboration which has been resulting in releases and remixes on different labels, such as Torque, Paranoid Dancer, Damage Music and others.
