Tresor New Faces w/ Refracted
Wed 04 March 2020 - 23:59

Yukimasa is a Tokyo-based DJ, producer and founder & owner of Paradigma Records (in collaboration with the Italian artist Drafted). His style encompasses the hypnotic, archaic, experimental, epic, psychedelic, ancient, eternal, modern, industrial, vanguard – the sounds of galaxy. Yukimasa is organizer of “FORCE” parties since 2007 and currently holding at Contact Tokyo. Recently the mix released as a podcast from United States, Italy, Germany, South Korea and Australia. Eyvind Blix is a deep techno artist blessed with the rare ability to utilize the entire sonic spectrum in his musical explorations, fusing hypnotic sonic texture with elements of surreal darkness where all notions of space and time are lost. Deep rhythms and atmospheric elements have always played a major role in Refracted‘s music. It is techno more as an idea and conduit, than as an easily-labeled sound. It is dance music where layered rhythms act almost on a neural, sub epidermal level, while moving and evolving soundscapes acquire a tactile, understated physicality. Paramount examples of this can be found on releases on Refracted‘s own Mind Express label and other top labels like Silent Season and Pole Group. Spiritual, almost meditative, his sets possess a kinetic energy as well, which is a clear indication of a DJ who knows the fundamental role of dancing as part of the ritual. Refracted wants to take us somewhere, the “where” being of our own choosing, the trail never being the most travelled.
