Semantica Records is a Techno/IDM label owned by Svreca and based in Barcelona, and tonight celebrates 10 years in existance. No stranger to Tresor Club, the label presents an impressive platform tonight, featuring distinguished artists on two floors. Downstairs in Tresor: The Madrid-born Svreca combines the coolest and most sophisticated electronica with the most abstract and complex techno, and sometimes his experimentation leads him towards the most unusual textures and rhythms for the dancefloor. Label night guest Jonas Rönnberg aka Varg aka many, many monikers, produces sweeping and vast sets that weave through incredible spectrums of dark, industrial and almost cinematic proportions. Fresh from a U.S. tour and an appearance at last month’s Atonal Festival, the heat is on to experience this underground Swedish artist. Neel is an Italian DJ, producer and composer who has been long known as part of Voices From The Lake together with Donato Dozzy, and as a solo artist he takes techno to deep, atmospheric regions, keenly assembled tracks for a style expressed well on his solo album of 2012 “Phobos”. Jose Cabrera aka J.C. from Spain, debuting in Tresor on one of the Echoes nights, expresses a style of simple, raw, stripped down and hypnotic techno. In 2012, he started the AHD label together with his friend Damian Schwartz, releasing records of the likes of Fred P, DJ F, Marcos Cabral and Epiphany, and he produced his first EP for the Argentinian label Greener Records in the beginning of 2013. After several other innovative releases, J.C. joined the Tresor label family with his different blends in subtle electronics. In Globus: when it comes down to combining the best of many musical worlds, Peter Van Hoesen can say he’s been doing it for a while now. Deeply rooted in the Brussels electronic music scene as DJ and producer since 1993, he’s considered by many as a man with multiple musical talents: from straight-up dancefloor jackin’ techno to advanced abstract electronica, and the unforgettable hardware approach to his unique and dramatic live sets. His tracks and remixes have been released on his own labels Time To Express and Foton, as well as many others, not to mention his successful “Life Performance“ on our label (Tresor.265). Operating in the abstract regions of techno and coming from a visual (fashion) background, Marco Shuttle has carved out his own little niche in recent years. Releasing on outlets such as Time To Express, The Bunker and Clone, Marco Shuttle’s journeying techno sound is very detailed and organic, and as such has turned the heads of those in the know. As a DJ he is just as considered, never doing anything just because, but instead focusing on form and function in equal measure. Marco Shuttle, then, as boss of his own Eerie label, makes and mixes together music that is exactly that. Returning artist Material Object manifests himself in diverse forms and styles, a true electronic music chameleon who for example joined with Atom to produce the “No.Inc.” project and label, or a collaboration with the recently deceased, legendary ambient composer Pete Namlook.
