Tresor pres. Fleisch & Sonic Groove
Thu 25 July 2019 - 23:59

Cameron Findlay aka Kontravoid is a Canadian-born electronic musician, drummer, composer and producer from Toronto. His debut album was released in 2012 and the song Native State was released on Minimal Wave Records sister label Cititrax as a 7″ single later that year. The 2018 EP Undone was released on Berlin label Fleisch. Kontravoid has since toured North America, Europe and the UK with numerous acts. Findlay was the founding member, co-producer and co-writer for Canadian synthpop band Parallels, which he left in 2011. His original composition of “Dry Blood” by Parallels was featured in the 2013 Oscar award-winning short film Curfew. Techno maverick Adam X dates back to 1990 in New York City, where he teamed up with his brother Frankie Bones in running the first all-techno record shop in America ‘Groove Records (later named Sonic Groove Records)’ with DJ Heather Heart joining ownership shortly after. Throughout the 90s and into the first half of the millennium, the Sonic Groove retail outlet was one of the top techno record retailers for DJs & vinyl collectors across the world. Now one of the longest techno labels running, Sonic Groove refuses to push the sounds of the past, instead preferring to define the sound of the future. Known in contemporary times globally for his pioneering working in crossing the parallel of techno and industrial music, Adam X is also behind the production of the well known deep sci-fi techno project “Traversable Wormhole” on CLR. Zanias was born in Australia, raised in South-East Asia and is now based in Berlin. She was once known as the voice of the bands Linea Aspera and Keluar, and now performs and DJs as a solo artist. Her debut EP ‘To the Core’ (2016, Noiztank) featured the track ‘Follow the Body’, which between the original and its remixes by Dax J and Kobosil has since become a staple of techno dancefloors worldwide. At the end of 2018 Zanias followed it with her debut album, ‘Into the All’ (Candela Rising), a genre-defying journey of psychospiritual enlightenment formed from extensive recording and experimentation. While her live sets are a spectacle and catharsis led by an intense vocal performance, in her DJ and hybrid sets (featuring live vocals) she expresses this emotive force in the form of evocative melodies intricately woven through industrial beats and EBM basslines, aimed to move both the body and the mind. In addition to performance and production, Zanias is a member of Berlin’s Fleisch collective, an amalgam of DJs with primary careers as musicians and designers, and a taste for electronic body music, new beat, industrial, acid, and the darker, wavier fringes of techno, which is set to release her first full-length. Half Drøm is the Raw//Body//techno project of Berlin-based DJ and producer Saxon Jörgensen of Melbourne Australia. Weaving science and spirituality into well-established engines of industrial, EBM and post-punk, Half Drøm’s work seeks to break out of the confines of “dark” music (by this point an overused descriptor, particularly in these crumbling times) to shape something far more imperious and personal. Whereas techno is so often used as a sledgehammer, Jorgensen wields it like an ice-sculptor with a chainsaw. Fleisch new-comer Clarissa is known for her blistering EBM, techno, and electro sets. Together with Half Drøm they will singe the Tresor Floor to its seams.
