Summer comes, summer goes – and Tresor Records celebrates its birthday! Every year in October we dedicate an entire weekend to our house label. And of course in this 24th year the well-established TWO NIGHTS birthday bash, until long after the sun is up on Sunday, will take place with our label artists, residents and long-standing label companions. Among them as always a few exclusive techno delights: tonight we’re proud to present the Tresor Club and German live premiere by Adventice, the Paris duo DJ Deep and Roman Poncet. Both present their live act after a highly successful performance at last June’s Weather Festival in Paris and now live in the excellent aural surroundings of the Globus Floor. From Turin, Italy’s underground scene, Andrea‘s sets express emotive melodies and abstract sounds, heavy kicks and low-end drum, atmo-pads and chord progressions that are the significant elements of his music. The Ilian Tape artists always creates an intense atmosphere with a mixture of effective dancefloor bangers and stepping rhythms. Two Tresor Club residents throw solid support rhythm: the subtley and deepness of Marcel Heese‘s driving set, and Mareena‘s virtuosic and clever eclecticism in style changes, turning Globus into a true event hall. On the Tresor Floor: Terence Fixmer is one of France’s most illustrated characters of the techno scene, of which he has been at the forefront for many years, whether in Berlin’s mecca of techno or Paris’ Rex Club. Equally at ease in the club or at a pure techno festival, Terence reached this respected level without ever succumbing to excessive promotion or subscribing to the mainstream. Equipped for a live set tonight, Terence Fixmer’s sound deftly avoids repetition by developing soundscapes that appeal to the club crowd, whilst still maintaining musical depth and integrity. Sombre, defined by surging rhythmical structures, Terence Fixmer’s music appeals as much to dancing feet as it does to the searching soul. And label freaks are well aware of Terence‘s haunting remix on Purlesque‘s “Leitmotiv – The Remixes” (Tresor.254). Our house techno connoiseur Pacou is a club and label veteran who knows Tresor and our fans like the back of his hand, having released numerous albums on our house label as well as his own Cache imprint. Pacou is also one of our top ambassadors for the Tresor sound around the world. And with two of our choicest basement techno residents driving the beat, Marcelus and Manuel Münster, the Tresor Floor will live up to its hot and sweaty reputation.
Happy Birthday Tresor Records!
