Tresor Records. 28 Years. PART I
Fri 04 October 2019 - 23:59

Tresor Records, the label affiliated to our eponymous club, veritable nerve center of Berlin’s expressive sub-cultural movement, celebrates its 27th anniversary. This explosive musical programme to celebrate the occasion brings together legacy artists that have cemented the foundations of the label’s catalogue, with producers that have joined the fold over recent years. Psyk aka Manuel Anós is a solid staple of the current techno scene. His sets in the best clubs and festivals all over the world have helped crystallize his DJ talents making him one of the most requested DJs on the circuit, as well as running his own Non Series imprint since 2011. The Spanish producer released his first single for our label, ‘Works’ , in 2015. Four years later, the production of ‘A Moment Before’ released last April, comes as natural progression, undoubtedly Psyk‘s most advanced piece of work to date. Detroit-born, Berlin-based Alan Oldham is not only one of techno music’s most accomplished ambassadors but also a producer, composer, remixer and a very well-known graphic artist. Performing and recording under various monikers (notably DJ T-1000, Detroitrocketsciencek, to name just two), each revealing consistent individual, high-quality uniqueness, Alan Oldham is a maverick of the genre with no intention of slowing down. In his early days he toured briefly with UR which contributed to his solid techno style. When he’s not behind the decks or in the studio producing electronic dance music for labels like Tresor Records, Bpitch Control, Rawax, Inzec (CH), Minimalsoul (CH), or his own Pure Sonik and Generator imprints, Oldham has provided artwork for the electronic music industry for almost 20 years, exhibiting in galleries the world over. With his own no-nonsense brand of bangin’, funky-ass techno he is a frequent guest in the most famous clubs and festivals on the planet. When DJ T-1000 is on the flyer, fans know he’s bringing the ruckus. A friend and label family member of Tresor for many years, we welcome Alan Oldham to celebrate our label’s 28th birthday.  We also welcome the return of talented Austrian DJ and Tresor label artist Claudia Anderson, whose “Hysteria” EP was the debut release on Marcelus’ Singular label in 2012. In 2017 we were pleased to release her 4-track EP “Air”, as well as the track “Phase” on 2017’s 25-year Tresor Records compilation “Dreamy Harbor (Tresor.291). The addition of our excellent Tresor Club resident HGR makes this a very special techno night indeed, our excellent resident known for his versatile sets and agility to move between moods. On the Globus Floor: Moritz von Oswald is a producer, multi-instrumentalist, mastering and cutting engineer at Dubplates & Mastering, (1995 – 2008), who has been at the cutting edge of German and international electronic music since it’s humble beginnings. One of dub techno’s best known producers, he was one half of the legendary projects Basic Channel and Maurizio. Basic Channel and Maurizio records are characterized by a 4×4 beats with dub-inflected syncopated synth pads slowly modulated over time, and his work with Mark Ernestus as Rhythm & Sound fused his interests in dub reggae and techno, where Jamaican vocalists sing or speak over stripped down techno beats and bass. In 2013 Moritz von Oswald joined with another Tresor legend Juan Atkins for their collaborative release “Borderland”. DJ Deep is a techno and house producer, DJ and frequent guest in our home. Since 2003 he has run the Deeply Rooted label, formerly Deeply Rooted House, and House Music Records, shining a spotlight on true-to-its roots house and techno records. A reformat in 2015 and DJ Deep’s latest evolution in expression sees him join forces with Roman Poncet as Sergie Rezza, an open-minded experimentation with a standout album on Desire Records and performances including Berlin Atonal. Twenty years in, from house to techno and everything in between, DJ Deep has immersed himself in the ebb and flows of music, be it NY, Chicago, Detroit or today’s current pulsating waves. Hailing originally from Venice, Laurine is a co-founding member of the Berlin DJ and artist collective Slow Life and definitely promotes its ideals of the love of vinyl. The label is mainly influenced by the Detroit sounds and Afro rhythms, a label in constant mutation, generically open, but committed to experimentation, and of course, deepness. Laurine’s gigs around Berlin are evidence of her tough talent and we welcome her back for our label birthday party.
