We give a warm welcome back to Neel: the Italian DJ, producer and composer has been long known as part of Voices From The Lake together with Donato Dozzy, and as a solo artist he takes techno to deep, atmospheric regions, keenly assembled tracks for a style expressed well on his solo album of 2012 “Phobos”. Neel performs both mesmerizing live shows as well as a wonderfully atmospheric DJ set like tonight, leaving audiences left adrift in wide open spaces of sound that work the head as much as the heel. SNTS is a Germany techno label, committed to the vinyl format as the main pillar, and overall bring the electronic in the anonymity. Very underground and very dark, these sounds are wonderfully spatial, extraterrestrial – soundtracks for asteroid travel. UK artist Edit Select returns after his Tresor gig last October: last March he celebrated his first album and Prologue debut. With “Phlox” the Scot found a perfectly sequenced electronic album that lies somewhere between techno, drone and ambient, to further the ideals of the Munich label. Track tags like “Dino Sabbatini Co-production” and “Bauer Rework” should satisfy and bring to the knees in joy for even the hard-boiled techno connaisseur. Edit Select‘s amazing techno soundscapes are rich in many electronic aspects that could be just as well suited for the big screen as well as the dancefloor. Support comes from resident Reka: Spanish of origin and Berlin-based, she is influenced by italodisco, technopop, ebm, acidhouse, newbeat, rock, real electro, IDM, and a myriad of other electronic genres. Her techno sets gravitate towards deep, dark, and both classic and more avant-garde sounds reflecting her personal need for consistent exploration and mutation. In the +4Bar: we welcome back Patrick Scott aka Scott Grooves. Scott forged a friendship with Kevin Saunderson, which lead to tinkling the keyboards for Inner City. Later Scott made his debut on Soma with the sublime “A New Day” (Soma 58), with heart-stopping chords and stunning stuttering breakbeats. He has run his own label “From The Studio Of Scott Grooves” since 1999, which spawned Scott’s biggest independent release “The Journey”. He also runs the labels “Natural MIDI”, which is geared towards the edgier analog sound, and “Modified Suede” which portrays his more organic soulful side.
