The fact that the Iberian peninsula has become one of the epicenters of European techno production is very much due to its passionate underground collectives, and one of the most potent is the Non Series. Launched in 2011 by Manuel Anós aka Psyk aka Maan, the label can currently look back on thirteen releases, including two albums and a large number of remixes of an illustrious garde of international techno producers who have harnessed the tracks of mostly Spanish artists. At the label rendevous tonight we gather label boss Psyk back-to-back with Cyclical Tracks head and non newcomer Tadeo, Semantica’s Aiken plus the Berliner Non-outpost and Tresor regular Savas Pascalidis behind the decks. Up in the +4Bar Ari Frank and Max Jacobson cover the night as two representatives of the Neo-Chicago sound. Frank‘s style is understood as the processing of Chi-town roots, Detroit influences and a minimalism infection that was caught in the early 2000s at a Minus Showcase. At home he feels well in the A-Spot Chicago, the Smart Bar, as in Berlin hedonist temples and party houses of Tel Aviv. As a member of the same emerging guard of young Midwest jocks like Frank, Max Jacobson also finds himself globally networked. His sets and Klectik Releases receive daily support from all corners of the world. Terrific support from Berlin-based Vincenzo Maurice, founder of Habitus, Berlin & Crude Wax.
