Daniel Bell is a pioneer of minimal techno. He started as Cybersonik in the early 90s, a potent amalgamation of Chicago-influenced searing 303s, the brutal stomp of European hardcore, and a touch of Detroit futurism. By 1993, he formed his "mother label" Accelerate, concentrating on his DBX project, a stripped-back hybrid of hard-wired house and metallic technoid clanging. He also founded 7th City, a more stylistically open platform for his and label partner Claude Young’s various electronic experiments.
