Known to many as the First Lady of Wax, DJ Minx is a vital legend of the Detroit scene. She started spinning records at The Music Institute in 1989 and sharing radio time with the Belleville Three. A producer and DJ, she is best known for A Walk In The Park - a minimal house anthem she released in 2003, beloved by DJs worldwide. As the founder of Women on Wax, a collective of female DJs in Detroit, she mentors fellow women in the industry,and in 2001 she established the label Women On Wax Recordings, which has become a platform for her productions and an outlet for local talent. Minx was named by Mixmag as one of the most important women in electronic music history and in 2018 she received the ‘Spirit of Detroit’ award from the City of Detroit for her work within the city.
