New Yorker Dave Sumner began making music under the name of Function in the mid-90s, producing a back catalogue that spells a mesmerising blend of puristic club tracks and labyrinthine electronic excursions. He is a founding member of Sandwell District, a techno collective that includes Regis and Silent Servant. Sumner's label Infrastructure New York continues to be a crucial vessel for forward-thinking techno and electronic music. Alongside Luke Slater and Steve Bicknell, he formed techno supergroup and label LSD, serving up shapeshifting, psychedelic machine music driven by their spellbinding live shows. In 2019, he released Existenz on Tresor Records.
